Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger recently tweeted a powerful video call amid civilians who are under attack every day in Ukraine.
He even went straight to Russian President Vladimir Putin and asked him to end the war. In the nine-minute video, the Terminator actor addressed both the Russian people and President Vladimir Putin.
Arnold started the video by asking the Russian people to take a few minutes and listen with an open heart. Arnold then returned to his childhood and recalled how his hero, Russian weightlifter Yuri Petrovich Vlasov, was his biggest inspiration growing up.
He also noted that his father wanted him not to idealize a Russian man, as he had fought against them as a soldier in the Nazi army during World War II.
Arnold Schwarzenegger continued: “I didn’t care what flag Yuri Vlasov carried. The strength and heart of the Russian people have always inspired me. So I hope you will let me tell the truth about the war in Ukraine and what happened. go there.” The actor further shared that 141 nations voted against Russia at the UN.
“When I see babies coming out of the rubble, I think I’m seeing the horrors of World War II, not today’s news,” the Terminator star said. He also insisted that people were being told lies in what was described as “a special Russian military operation”.
Arnold Schwarzenegger also addressed the Russian President directly and said: “I say to President Putin: you started this war. You are fighting this war. We know you have suffered the consequences of your bravery. They were arrested. You have been locked up. And you were beaten. These are my new heroes.
