UP investors summit 2022, India’s largest population, is expected to receive an investment transaction worth Rs 70,000 crore from the billionaire industrialist Gautam Adani-led Adani Group, creating 30,000 jobs in the state. Adani made his presentation during a speech at the UP Investors Summit in Lucknow on Friday.
According to Bloomberg List, the wealthiest person in the world, Adan with a net worth of US $ 98.7 billion added that the group will invest Rs 24,000 crore in the development of state road and transportation infrastructure. In addition, an additional 35,000 crore rupees will be invested in the multimodal logistics and defence sector.
PM Narendra Modi attended the groundbreaking ceremony @ 3.0 of the UP Investors Summit on Friday. During the groundbreaking ceremony, he laid the cornerstone of the 1406 project, worth more than Rs 80,000 crores.
“I think Uttar Pradesh will give momentum to India’s growth story in the 21st century. In the next decade, Uttar Pradesh will be a major driving force for India,” said the Prime Minister.
The project covers various sectors such as agriculture and related products, IT and electronics, MSME, manufacturing, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, tourism, defence and aerospace, handwoven and textiles.
Meanwhile, despite rising oil costs, Port Adani and the Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) reported a 15% year-on-year increase in volume, according to exchange declarations. The top ports reflecting the increase in volume are Kattupali and Ennor combined (50%), Dahej (42%), Dhamra (35%) and Mundra (7%).
The APSEZ carried 30.37 MMT of cargo in May 2022, showing a 4% year-on-year growth, while total coal volume recorded a 6% year-on-year increase. The increase in coal volume was supported by an increase in steam coal (5%) and coking coal (9%).
