On the heels of Ashram 1, we see Baba Nirala (Bobby Deol) become ruthless in his attempt to gain power. He relies on corrupt politicians to hide his fur while he hunts down innocent women seeking redemption.
A trickster, he is quite adept at hiding his true intentions from the public and wears a mask of appearances from his followers. Ujagar Singh, a policeman, sets out to capture Baba Nirala, who looks nothing like the person he is supposed to be.
The skeletons and corpses on the grounds of the ashram continue to act as a catalyst that enriches the story. Whether or not the police officer will discover Baba’s crimes remains to be seen.

Acts of violence and vandalism have been reported on the film sets of the upcoming Ashram 3 web series in Bhopal. Workers from the right-wing organization Bajrang Dal allegedly attacked the crew of Ashram 3. The attackers also allegedly threw ink at director Prakash Jha. The attackers allegedly threw stones at vehicles and injured the crew. Slogans such as “Prakash Jha Murdabad” and “Bobby Deol Murdabad” were reportedly chanted. Police reportedly said all attackers had been removed from the site.

The creators claim that the Aashram is pure fiction and any resemblance to real life characters is purely coincidental. The plot, however, seems to be inspired by the true stories of some self-proclaimed gods in India.
