After reaching a record high of 28,867 daily cases on January 13, the number of daily cases in Delhi has been declining.
Delhi reported 140 new Covid-19 cases on Friday and no deaths, according to data released by the city’s health department. The positivity rate in the state capital was recorded at 0.43%. Active cases recorded at 602, data revealed.
This brought the number of cases in the state capital to 18,63,633, while the death toll stood at 26,145, according to the latest health report.
The number of COVID-19 tests carried out a day ago stood at 32,444, it said. The number of daily cases in Delhi is falling after hitting a record high of 28,867 on January 13.
The city had recorded a positivity rate of 30.6% as of January 14, the highest of the ongoing wave of the pandemic. Amid a drop in daily COVID-19 cases in Delhi, the number of patients in home isolation has dropped significantly here in recent weeks.
As of February 1, the total number of home isolation cases was 12,312. On Wednesday, it fell to 434. The number of restricted areas also fell to 3,309 on March 15, according to official figures. The spike in COVID-19 cases in Delhi during the third wave of the pandemic was largely due to the highly transmissible Omicron variant of the virus.
