UNKNOWN ITEMS VOLUME 2: ARTICLE
(Minor Spoiler Warning)
First of all, the most important revelation of the conclusion is that we now know who was behind the Massacre at Hawkins Lab – and it was not Eleven. Although El may have freed Henry Creel (aka 001) from the fringes of the lab, he had an unexpected hand in Creel’s (Jamie Campbell Bower) assassination. Eleven then intervened to stop Henry Creel, sending him successfully (or create?) Upside Down we all know and despise.
Vecna seems to want revenge, all that is left is for the young to stop her. Eleven will need his extra strength to stop him, as he seems to have regained a small part of it while sitting on the NINA project, remembering the past.
While Dustin and the team have been successful in helping Steve, Robin, and Eddie in their escape to Upside-Down, Nancy is still trapped following an unexplained “fall”. In Stranger Things 4 volume 2, saving him is certainly a priority for Steve (and others).
Meanwhile, Joyce and Murray track down Hopper and Dmitri in Russia, where they have just set up Demogorgon with a spear in the face.
As revealed by Vecna, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) who is about to regain her strength, and new gates opening between Hawkins and Upside Down, Unknown Things are nearing not only the end of the fourth season, but its final series.
Of course, season five is on its way (finally) and Netflix has celebrated both volumes of season 4 and the entire program by offering the full Thursday of Geeked 2022 week in the series. Although it was a setback as a preview, there was still a lot of information that needed to be analyzed, so we have included it in a useful list of events for the day.
And be sure to check back each day as we will be adding to our database as Geeked Week progresses.
Unlike other shows that work on a masterpiece in detail, creators Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer have revealed that they only had their first season.
“[Netflix] has asked us to move on to fiction,” Ross Duffer said. “So we talked to our writers about Upside Down and most of what we talk about now [in season 4]. Great rhythms were there. ”
Some of those beats have been played all season, and have led to Vecna’s connection to Eleven. And some of the answers that are yet to come in the fifth and final season have been included in the 4th season.
But one example of how doing the series changed the story: Steve (Joe Keery) was destined for death in season 1.
“If he came back and fought Demogorgon, that should have been Jonathan’s father,” Matt Duffer said. No Duffer could remember exactly when Steve would die, but credit Keery for changing the character’s trajectory.
“You learn what works and what doesn’t,” he continued. “The actors have an influence on where you take the narrative, other writers and directors … this is a living thing.” He also added that although they did not do everything at this point – this is always a difficult program – the act of making Stranger Things always “appreciate what we do.”
One of the things that informs the story is the inevitable time march. As the characters grow, so do the characters grow – though not in the 1: 1 continuation. Season 4 sees children enter high school and find their place in it. And that complex growth leads to a change in tone in the series.
“It won’t be The Goonies anymore, but they could be in a horror film,” explains Ross Duffer.
Matt Duffer added: “Their growth compels the show. [For us] elementary school was a happy journey [and] high school was a very bad one. I have nothing but bad memories of high school, “he said.
Calling those memories, the Duffers entered the season with a massive test of anxiety and depression, represented by Vecna.
“Season 3 [was our biggest movie]. Season 4 was Nightmare on Elm Street and Hellrasier, ”he said.
Those film touches definitely hit Max’s (Sadie Sink) story.
“You learn to direct people to the real place, and Max is one of those people,” Sink said. “You are grieving for Billy’s death.”
Although, as viewers have seen, Kate Bush ‘music has definitely helped in both cases.
And although the story at Hawkins reached its deepest depths, not all episodes of Season 4 needed much attention.
“We shot a thrilling joke in which they shot a different kind of, psychological film,” Finn Wolfhard said of Mike, Will (Noah Schnapp) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) ‘s journey across the western United States. “It was incredibly fun.”
Brown, on the other hand, said he “appreciates the Duffers who are robbing [Eleven] of his skills.” The immersion of the character’s emotions and the “real” struggle of the relationship between Mike and Eleven made things different than last season, when his powers took precedence. He also thought it was a good decision to separate the actors and focus on different areas of the 1980s. But he also remarked, “It’s always limited to Upside Down.”
The main part of the session concludes with a short comedy (posted above) in season 4 of Volume 2. The last two episodes of the season see Joyce, Hopper, and Murray (Brett Gelman) continue exploring the Russian mystery as Eleven emerges. to face Vecna. Although, as he said in his mockery, “You have released me … you cannot stop this now.”
Afterwards, Wolfhard, Priah Ferguson (Erica in the series), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) and Joseph Quinn (new character Eddie Munson) participated in the Dungeons & Dragons campaign run by B. Dave Walters.
