Shawn Mendes, In an open letter to fans, says he constantly feels like he’s ‘flying or sinking’.
Candian singer Shawn Mendes spoke candidly with fans about his mental health on Twitter on Tuesday night.

He talks about how overwhelmed he was in a heartfelt letter to his fans. In a note he posted on social media last night, Sean said he felt he was constantly “flying or sinking” and worried that he would “think of him less” if people knew the truth.
“I’m afraid that if people know and see the truth they might think less of me. They might become bored of me,” he said. “So in those moments of feeling low I either put on a show or hide. The truth, in current form is a 23 year old who constantly feels like he’s either flying or drowning. Maybe that’s just what it is to be in your 20’s idk, or maybe that’s just me.”
Shawn says he continues to want to show the world who he truly is, doesn’t care what people think, sometimes he does, but mostly it’s a struggle. “The truth is even with so much success I still find it hard to feel like I’m not failing. Hyper focused on what I don’t have, forgetting to see all that I do. The truth is I am overwhelmed and overstimulated. lol. The truth is ALSO that I’m okay. I’m just tryna tell and be the truth. I like to think that maybe me saying this might resonate with some people.”
Shawn has previously revealed their post-breakup strategy. The stitches singer said he felt both “good” and “bad” surges. He tries not to be too harsh on himself and realizes that there are many people in life to rely on.
The
singer now tweets about the ups and downs he has experienced about who he is.
The comments section was full of support from fans of the Teach Me How To Love singer. Fans were also worried about him.
Mendes posted the message five months after announcing the split from Camila Cabello, who had been dating for over two years.
In November 2021 they announced their breakup. Since then both of them been struggling with themselves.
