Sharmaji namkeen is a Bollywood film starring late actors Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal.It’s a light comedy and a delightful movie to watch with lots of emotions.
Hitesh Bhatia directed Sharmaji namkeen is a film of a person who gets a golden handshake when he is just 58 years old (2 years before actual retirement ) and gets turned off from his workplace. The movie got released on Amazon prime earlier this month. There are a lot of people who get their early retirement and join some yoga classes or anything that normally old people will do. But Sharmaji(Rishi Kapoor) seems too active a person to “sit and chill” he had an interest in making finger liking food.
He makes food for kids who were raised alone after the demise of his wife. He had two grown-up kids, one with a job and the other one in a college. Sharmaji being too active person didn’t want to sit at home but to do something interesting to pass his time. how does one pass his time being alone at the home all time?
This movie has Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal as lead role caste and other caste include Isha Talwar, Suhail Nayyar, Guffy Painthal, Ayesha Raza, Sheeba Chaddha, Sulgna panirahi, and many more.
The movie tells us about the journey and emotions of 58 years, retired man. Sharmaji starts his own cooking business and through that, he met this bunch of married kitty party girls and escape from his boredom. Talks of these chirpy woman and their life stories show the real picture of women’s sexuality, sexism, and women’s carrier, and problems, This adds a lot of fun elements and laughter to the movie.
while, In the movie Rishi kapoor and Paresh rawal’s roles are not separated but they are titular role of Sharmaji.The reason why the scenes in the movies are not separated chronologically because , Sharmaji namkeen was Rishi kapoor’s last film and the actor death happened in the mid way of the production of the movie,Actor Paresh rawal helped to complete the movie by being in the remaining scenes of the movie.It was rare situation where two actors plays the same role in the movie.
Rishi kapoor,one of the talented actor on film industry died after two years of fighting with cancer in 2020.In 2020 due to pandemic all the shoots were instructed to shut because of protocols from government.but he had already sign the film when he’s cancer again came on.
The film starts with a very heart-touching, emotional message about His son Ranbir Kapoor by giving him a tribute for his last film. In one of the interviews, Ranbir said” After the sudden circumstances there were instances where I was considering to play the role of him, but then it got scrap because of various reason, one of the reason was I don’t look old enough to fit the role”
Another talented female lead role is Juhi Chawla ,recently she has been part of many web series and shows ,in the film she looks super fantastic with her easy going acting beautiful looks. She played role of one of the women in kitty group ,she is widowed woman pursuing her dreams.
Her role in the film is very unique and interesting ,being 90’s juhi’s fans are really happy seeing her again on spotlight. Juhi said “Overall fans are really liking the films and giving positive reviews on all over social media.The film will make you laugh and cry at the same time,the moments in the film are so real ,normal and very relatble.It seems like stroy is unfolding someone’s house and script seems just brilliant for me”.
