Rajesh Pant, an engineer with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), said efforts to reopen roads are ongoing.

On Wednesday evening, the Yamunotri (Char Dham) highway collapsed in the 15-meter section between Rana Chatti and Sayan Chatti districts. As a result, the passage of large vehicles such as buses was restricted. The Uttarkashi Disaster Management Agency said thousands of Char Dham passengers were stranded in a landslide on the road. We are working to restore the road as quickly as possible. Fifteen workers went to repair the road. They are accompanied by a tractor cart, two JCB machines and a backland.
24 pilgrim buses and 15 minibuses stopped (Char Dham). They were transported to nearby Ashram and Sainchatti guest houses. However, the Hrishikesh-Gangotri highway, Vikas-Nagar-Barkot national highway, Chinalai-Saud-Suvakholi, Uttarkashi-Lamgaon-Srinagar and Mussoorie-Dehradun national highways are open.
48 pilgrims (Char Dham) died during Char Dham Yatra. They died of heart disease and other diseases. Fifteen people were killed in Yamunotri. Four people died in Gangotri. Eight people died in Badrinath. 21 people have died in Kedarnath. One of them died Thursday morning.
So far 6.5 million people have completed the Chardham Yatra. 16,788 people arrived in Kedarnath on Wednesday. At the same time, Kedarnath was visited by 2 lakhs 33 thousand 711 people. According to information provided by the government, 1,88,346 people have visited Badrinath so far. 1,06,352 people visited Yamunotri. 1,30,855 people visited Gangotri.
