Buttler is the current possessor of the Orange Cap in the tournament and has scored nearly 500 runs in three centuries. He also became the second hitter behind Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who scored more than three centuries in a one season of IPL edition 2016.
Jos Buttler Ipl 2022, completely overpowered Delhi bowlers. He scored 116 runs in just 65 balls, including 9 fours and sixes as many as they did, but lost their final second wicket to Mustafizur Rahman.
In addition to Buttler, rookie Devdutt Padikkal and captain Sanju Samson also shined at the plate, helping RR set RR’s record for maximum IPL 2022. Padikkal is back in shape after an impressive half-century. The southpaw hit 54 of 35 and Samson went undefeated 46 of 19 innings as RR handled 222/2 in 20 overs. It is the highest final target of IPL 2022.
Delhi Capitals Performance:-
Capitals started off brilliantly when Prithvi Shaw and David Warner linked together the first wicket post 43 runs for first wicket in Double QuickTime. However, both batters were out by the end of the 10th over. Sarfaraz Khan also shuffled up and down several times to lower it lightly.
Ravi Ashwin worked well for Capitals when he returned both Shaw and Sarfaraz. Rishabh Pant tried to put the Capitals on track with a quick pitch of 44 runs. However, Padikkal miraculously caught on inside the circle to help Captain DC return to his cabin.
Lalit Yadav tried hard with 24ball 37 but Krishna eliminated him. Krishna also stunned a girl at the turnstile in the second over of the DC race. With the 36 runs needed for the final over, Rowman Powell beat Obed McCoy with three straight sixes.
DC wasn’t happy with the decision –
Over’s third ball caused controversy as DC players were not satisfied with the referee’s no-ball decision. The capitals believed McCoy hit the ball above Powell’s waist.
Pant was not a happy man and had a lively discussion with the Buttler near the border. After that, the game started and McCoy was keen to get the royals off the line.
With yesterday’s win, RR has reached the top of the points table.
