India Reports : NEW DELHI on Monday reported a one-day increase in 2,183 19 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the number of Indian cases to 4.30 crore. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.83 percent and the weekly rate was 0.32 percent, according to the department.
The country also reported 214 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 5,21,965, including 213 in Kerala, details updated at 8am.
The number of people infected with the disease rose to 4,25,10,773, with a mortality rate of 1.21 percent.
While active cases dropped to 11,542, the Department of Health reported today. Active cases account for 0.03 percent of total illnesses, and the national Covid-19 recovery rate remains at 98.76 percent, the department said.
A decrease of 16 cases was recorded in active Covid-19 loading over a 24-hour period.
The total volume used in the country to date under the Covid-19 national vaccination campaign has exceeded 186.54 crore.

The country fell into a tough two-crore on May 4 and three crore on June 23 last year.
In addition to the 213 deaths in Kerala, a new death toll has been reported in Uttar Pradesh.

A total of 5,21,965 5,21,965 people have been reported dead in the country including 1,47,827 in Maharashtra, 68,615 in Kerala, 40,057 in Karnataka, 38,025 in Tamil Nadu, 26,158 in Delhi, 23,500 in Uttar 21,500 in Uttar and 21 in Bengal.
The department emphasized that more than 70 percent of the deaths were due to complications.
“Our statistics are integrated with the Indian Council of Medical Research,” the Department said on its website, adding that the government’s strategic distribution of statistics depends on further verification and reconciliation.
New DelHI: The number of Delhi-NCR people reporting someone receiving COVID on nearby social media has increased by 500% in the last 15 days, the study said.
About 19 percent of Delhi-NCR respondents surveyed said they had one or more people in their local network who had had COVID over the past 15 days.
‘The frequency of COVID network’ marks an increase of more than 500 percent in the last 15 days, says LocalCircles, the company conducting the study.
The survey found ideas from 11,743 residents located in all Delhi and NCR districts, the company said.
Asked respondents: “How many people (including children) do you have on your social network (family, friends, neighbors, coworkers) in Delhi-NCR who had COVID in the last 15 days?” In response, the majority of respondents, 70 percent, said: “No one in the last 15 days”. 11 percent said “1 or 2”, 8 percent said “3-5”, and the other 11 percent “could not say”.
A similar question a company asked on April 2 found that only 3 percent of affluent residents on social media were affiliated with COVID over the past 15 days.
The results of the study come as Delhi sees a sudden increase in COVID cases.
Delhi on Saturday recorded 461 new cases of COVID-19 – 5.33 percent of all tested – and two deaths, according to information provided by the city’s health department.
About 67% of respondents were men, and 33% were women, LocalCircles said.
It states that the survey was conducted only among authorized citizens, who were required to register with LocalCircles in order to participate in the study.
The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday made it compulsory for people to wear face masks in public places in the capital Lucknow and six NCR districts amid rising Covid cases in neighboring states, an official said.
The increase in Covid cases has affected districts falling under the national equity (NCR). With this in mind, the government has applied a mandatory mask to public places in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat and the capital Lucknow, an official spokesman said.
In the past 24 hours, 65 new Covid cases have been confirmed in Gautam Buddh Nagar, 20 in Ghaziabad and 10 in Lucknow, the official said, adding that Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath had ordered that the situation be “monitored”.
Due to the evolving nature of COVID-19, the Uttar Pradesh government granted relief from wearing a face mask earlier this month.
