“The Kashmir Files,” starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, and Pallavi Joshi, was released last week. Agnihotri wrote the script and Zee Studios produced the film. The film has been deemed tax-free in most BJP-ruled states, including Uttar Pradesh.
Amid a row over Vivek Agnihotri, the director of The Kashmir Files, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah said an honest investigation should be carried out to find out the culprits and the reason for such an incident.
The film The Kashmir Files is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley in 1990. “Jagmohan was governor at the time. He is no more, otherwise he would have told (reality). That’s why I want the matter investigated. Each film tells the story in a unique way.
It’s important that the film presents the exact truth,” the National Conference (NC) official said. “If you really want it investigated, launch an investigation. An honest investigation will help identify the culprits and the cause of such an incident,” Abdullah added.
