Delhi live updates : Fire breaks out in parking lot of building in Dwarka on May 30: The fire was under control and people were evacuated from the building on time, Delhi Fire Services said.
Delhi News Live: At least 52 people were trapped after a fire broke out in a five-story building in Delhi’s Dwarka on Monday morning.
“The fire was on the electric meter boards which caused it to spread rapidly and consumed 10 vehicles (motorcycles and motor vehicles) in the parking lot,” said fire department officials.
The fire department said the incident was reported around 1.30am in the parking lot of the building.
Four firefighting tenders were sent to the area.
The fire was under control and people were evacuated from the building on time, Delhi Fire Services said. A total of five received minor burns and are undergoing treatment. The incident happened in the Barat Garden area.

Ahead of the weather, temperatures in Delhi are likely to drop to about 41 degrees Celsius on Monday, while partial cloud cover and chance of thunder and lightning are also predicted. Clear skies have been forecast for a week, and high temperatures are likely to remain above 40 degrees Celsius.
At that time, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar arrived at the Haryana Pragati Rally in Gurgaon. At the rally, Khattar hid the attack on Kejriwal, who was holding a rally in Kurukshetra earlier today.
Khattar said, “There is a leader today holding a meeting in Kurukshetra. He says he will give it all for free. He will make the Punjab a Bimaru region. I want to tell everyone that free money is not good for the community or the government. ”
“As the smoke cleared, 52 people (24 women, 24 men, 04 children) were evacuated by DFS staff from the building to a safer location.
The building has 26 apartments. by 400 square feet and, ”said Atul Garg, director, Delhi Fire Services (DFS).

Atul Garg, DFS chief executive officer, said, “The fire was in the basement of the building where residents parked their vehicles. Ten vehicles were set on fire and five were injured. Smoke billowed from the fire. All 52 residents — 48 adults and four children — were immediately evacuated from the building. ”
Garg said they suspected the fire started on the electric meter board and quickly spread to the underground cars, blocking the entrance and exit of the building.
Firefighters started a fire in a 26-room apartment within a few hours. An investigation by Delhi police will determine the cause of the fire and whether there was negligence.
