Panchayat Season 2 review: A amazon prime video web series based on India’s Village Life. The series is full of heart and soul even some episodes look off track.
Panchayat Season 2 review: In the second season of the popular web series Panchayat on Amazon Prime Video, there is a little twist in the action or plot. Like the first season, this season takes advantage of the small chase and dilemma of the village of Phulera, lightly spiced with satire, toneless humour, and fascinating performance.
The second season of this Slice of Life drama starring Jitendra Kumar was released on Wednesday, May 18th, this time, not only will you make you laugh, but the show will challenge you to think, look inside, and finally hold back your tears. It’s not a great show, but it’s a good one. Add to this a solid performance of the cast and crisp lighting, Panchayat 2 is a must-see.
It has 8 episodes and every episode has its element. Episode one is called “Naach” and from that episode, my favourite line was “Har koi Naach hi toh rha hai” referring to the work/jobs we all are doing even when we don’t want to.
Neena Gupta acted well throughout the season. Jitendra Kumar who played the role of Sachiv Ji in this season looked like he wants to quit the job and he is preparing for CAT but also on another hand, he is quite settled in the village.
It shows growth in both characters and stories, allowing Abhishek to find out new dimensions for Phulera and its inhabitants. It also avoids the clichés that many shows and movies set in the Indian countryside are guilty of. Describe it as an unusual freak show that laughs and ridicules. Panchayat presents an Indian village as a real place with real people. Yes, humour exists, but only in situations where people find themselves, not like rural life.
It is not pure comedy series the situation in this series will keep you entertained and brings you a small-small giggle throughout the episodes.
The strength of the show is its delicacy, as well as its performance. Jitendra Kumar is, of course, the star of the show, and he carries it very skillfully. Actors have grown exponentially over the years. This is evidenced by their ability to compete with veterans who are always in great shapes, such as Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta. The show’s most striking performances are due to two actors who can easily be mistaken for Comic Relief. Chandan Roy’s Vikas and Faisal Malik’s Prahald bring new life to the show with their perfect performance. And Faisal steals the show in the season finale scene.
The second season of Panchayat is not perfect. There are drawbacks and mistakes. The biggest is that it was a crime to give such a limited screen time to the amazing Neena Gupta. Every time her Manju Devi appears on the screen, she dominates everyone. And that makes you want more.
In this season audience can see that there is some romantic connection between sachiv Ji with Pradhan’s daughter Rinki. They also show an egoistic politician who creates problems for the Pradhan and Sachiv.
There are a few new entries in this season one is of a character named Bhushan and his wife Kranti Devi who is turning villagers in against Pradhan and his wife.
First, it was going to release on 20th May but it got released 2 days early.
