Murder in Canada : Ripudaman Singh was a successful Canadian businessman and also a representative of Sikh organizations. He was accused of hijacking an Air India plane and blowing it up. This incident is from 1985. Ripudaman Singh Malik, a businessman and Canadian Sikh leader of Punjabi origin, acquitted in the 1985 Kanishk bombing case, was shot dead on Thursday morning in Surrey, Canada. He was killed while traveling in his car. On the way, young men on bicycles taunted them with bullets.

The killers arrived in a car. He parked the car some distance away and then rode his bike. After committing the murder, the accused set the car on fire. It is feared the car was set on fire to destroy evidence. The reason for the murder is currently unknown. Ripudaman Singh fears he was murdered by fundamentalists. By moving away from the ideology of Khalistan, he is said to have roused Canadian fanatics towards the Indian government. Ripudaman Singh Malik came into limelight by printing Sri Guru Granth Sahib. There was great anger among the Sikh community in Canada over the issue of sacred forms published by Ripudaman and Balwant Singh. The matter also reached Sri Akal Takht Sahib due to which Ripudaman Singh stopped printing and handed over the holy form to the Shiroman Committee.

Ripudaman Singh Malik was a great admirer of Indian Prime Minister Modi and wrote a letter expressing his sincere gratitude for the many unprecedented positive steps taken by the Modi government for the Sikh community. Founder of Khalsa Credit Union, Khalsa School Canada, Ripudaman Singh Malik, in his recent letter to Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude for the positive work being done by the current Indian government towards the Sikhs. Ripudaman Singh was blacklisted even after he was acquitted, but when the Modi government lifted the blacklist, Ripudaman Singh came to tour India.
