Mumbai Indians IPL 2022, On Sunday at Wankhede stadium, MI played there eighth match against LSG where KL Rahul has made his second century of the season. This is the worst season for the MI so far as they haven’t even won a single match yet. Once a table topper is now at the bottom in the points table of Ipl 2022.
KL Rahul’s stunning second 100 gave Lucknow Super Giants a comfortable 36-run victory and knocked out the five-time champion of that edition of IPL. Rahul continued his amazing performance to MI, and after being invited to a bat at Wankhede Stadium, LSG scored 168 at 6 and was undefeated from 62 balls with the help of twelve fours and four maximums. He made 103 runs.
In response, Rohit Sharma looked good with 31 runs off 39 balls with the help of five boundaries and one maximum but MI again collapsed to crash at 67 for four.
Tilak Varma hit 38runs off 27 balls to give MI hope before Lucknow limited them to 132/8 for their fifth win in eight games to secure fourth place in the overall points standings.
For MI, it was yet another collective defeat as they tumbled to their eighth straight loss on the sprint, the only team in tournament history to achieve a questionable record while they were still in place.
For LSG, all bowlers contributed with Krunal Pandya taking 3 wickets for 19 and Dushmantha Chameera gives just 14 runs in 4 overs.
Kieron Pollard took two wickets in two overs, Riley Meredith dominated with two wickets, but admitted 40 runs, and Jasprit Bumrah once again showed his brilliance as a great all-format player.
Surya Kumar Yadav lost his wicket to Ayush Badnoi while playing a bad shot and giving him his first IPL wicket.
While Mumbai’s most recent loss now only maintains a theoretical playoff (they have to win their other six matches so that they can still be in the race for this ipl season), the Super Giants are back in the top four with a win with fifth win in eight games. For Rahul, the match was a battle against with his own batting nightmares, he just needed a good ball to be disqualified for a Ducks hat-trick at Wankhede Stadium this season.
