Indian Defence Industry, According to deputy commander-in-chief Raju, almost all military equipment will be purchased from the domestic industry.
Indian Defence Industry, Indian technologies and products showcased at the show during the Northern Technology Symposium in Udhampur on Saturday include surveillance and situational awareness, tactical mobility, firepower, troop protection, communications, combat medical facilities, robotics and simulation.
The exhibition was held by the deputy chief of the ground forces, B.S. Raju.
The Northern Technology Symposium was organized under the auspices of the Northern Command in Udhampur. The symposium was held over two days from May 6th to 7th. On May 6, a seminar was held under the theme of “Introduction of new technology to solve the operational tasks of the Northern Command and the reliability of self-defence through Atmanirbharta”.
The seminar was attended by Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi and representatives of the Indian defence industry, defence research and development organizations, public sector defence companies and academia to present their thoughts, ideas and modern defence technologies under one roof. On the second day of the symposium, an exhibition was held in which 162 Indian defence corporations, including MSMEs, DRDO, and DPSU, participated and presented their products.
Innovative solutions from 42 army ministries aimed at improving the combat power of ground forces were also presented. The symposium was actively attended by representatives of IDS, Army Headquarters, ARTRAC, other Commands, Category “A” agencies, Northern Command officers, subordinate units, and media representatives.
At the Day 1 workshop, army and industry participants discussed policies and procedures for emergency procurement, initiatives by Raksha Atmanirbharta of the Indian Army, DRDO and public defence companies, and how the private sector can contribute. It possesses various technologies such as surveillance systems, weapon sights, drones, anti-drone systems, as well as 3D printing.
This interactive platform for knowledge dissemination through joint military and industry engagement was an important step towards the government’s “Make in India” initiative.
The exhibition showcased the prowess of the Indian defence industry. Lieutenant General B. S. Raju gave a keynote address during the exhibition, interacted with all suppliers and manufacturers, and praised him for continuing to work towards the vision of “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.
The Symposium served as an ideal platform for the exchange of ideas between the domestic defence industry and showcased cutting-edge technologies and innovative products that provide solutions to the complex problems facing the Northern Command’s security forces and the army.
The symposium was a huge success and Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi praised the initiatives and innovations of all suppliers. The officer expressed confidence that the rich local technology could facilitate the development of the Atmanirbhar Bharat national project. The spirit of Atmanirbharta requires R&D, the domestic defence industry and the military to work simultaneously to realize the country’s vision.
