Erik Ten Hag confirmed as the new manager of Manchester United for premiere league
Manchester United have announced that Erik ten Hag will be appointed as team manager from next season. The Dutch have signed a contract to keep him in the club until 2025.
He will replace Ralf Rangnick, United’s current interim manager, who will play a technical role at the end of the season.
“For the past four years at Ajax, Erik has been one of Europe’s most exciting and successful coaches, known for his fascinating and aggressive football and his team’s commitment to youth,” United said. Soccer director John Martov said.
He impressed the Old Trafford chiefs in an official interview in March, and Joel Glazer and CEO Richard Arnold made him the preferred candidate earlier this month.
It is reported that United will pay Ajax £1.6m in compensation. The Dutchman will be hoping to excel and win the Eredivisie for a third time, his side currently trailing second-place PSV by four points with five games remaining.
It is understood he will also seek to bring along his own backroom staff and provide immediate input on the transfer.
United is looking forward to a busy summer window as they are trying to rebuild their team with many prominent unsigned players.
The club will return to the pre-season tour for the first time since the outbreak of the coronavirus. Erik Ten Hag will be on tour and will be in place before the first match against Liverpool in Bangkok in July.
The 52-year-old is a very popular manager of his Ajax project in Europe and was even discovered last year in Barcelona as a candidate to replace Ronald Koeman before the club settled in Xavi.
Tenhug has been conducting the Johan Cruyff Arena since 2017 after teaching Go Ahead Eagles, Bayern Munich II and Utrecht.
Ajax is currently ahead of Eredivisie as Erik Ten hug aims to win his third league title while reaching the 2019 UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Having not won a major title since winning the Europa League in 2018,
United is currently competing for fourth place in the Premier League Champions League.
The team lost to Liverpool 0-4 on Tuesday and will face Arsenal this Saturday. After a humiliating defeat, manager Ralf Rangnick said the team’s restructuring this summer was inevitable. Ten hug is now expected to oversee the reconstruction of the team.
