Faridabad: From July 4 to July 5, the clerks of all the departments of the district, angry with the talks of CAWS officials with the Chief Minister and non-resolution of their demands, have started their indefinite strike at the district mini-secretariat. Today, hundreds of clerical employees are present at the District Mini-Secretariat protest site. Non-clerical organizations are also getting full support from across the district. The protesting employees demanded that their salary be raised to ₹35,400. Because of this kind of irresponsible attitude of the government on the long pending demand of 35400/- the clerical class is forced to sit on dharna today. The state government is fully responsible for the problems faced by the common people of the district due to the dharna.
Talking to the media Surya Pratap (CAWS PRESIDENT DISTT FBD) told that they are fighting hard against the government for their right pay & On 18th of June, 2023 they had also assembled in Karnal and began a protest march toward the chief minister’s mansion while carrying slogans and they handed over the memorandum to mayor of that city and now they are very much disappointed by the govt as the govt is totally failed in assuring them.
Earlier Clerks from various departments of the Haryana government had also protested in Karnal demanding a hike in salary.
They gathered in Sector 12 of Karnal, held slogans and started a protest march towards the chief minister’s residence in Ram Nagar village. The protesters were arrested by police near Ambedkar Chowk. After an hour-long protest, members of the Haryana Clerks Association submitted a memorandum to the Mayor of Karnal, Renu Bala Gupta.
The protesters claimed that the government has high standards in providing online services to people, but does not care about the people who run these portals and work hard.
They said they were struggling financially to feed their children as they were underpaid and also threatened to escalate the unrest by going on strike if their demands were not met.
