MSD (Captain cool) will once again be captain of the Chennai Super Kings after Ravindra Jadeja declared that he would resign as leader of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team on Saturday. This happens after the team loses 6 out of 8 games in the current edition of IPL 2022. According to an official statement, Jadeja has decided to resign to concentrate more on his game.
If you look back over the past month and look at CSK’s performance in the IPL 2022, you’ll almost certainly miss Ravindra jadeja, one of the best all-around players in world cricket. Just before the start of the season, Jadeja penalized Sri Lanka with 175 undefeated, took 9 wickets in the test and gave India a major victory.
Jadeja seems to be struggling in this IPL season he has struggled with bat and ball both his performance was not up to the mark or the one can say to the standard he set in this past few years which looks like the correct decision to step down from the captaincy as he can focus on his game more the pressure of the captaincy is been noticed on his performance as IPL is one of the world’s biggest tournament.
Prior to the season, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said he wasn’t worried about Jadeja’s lack of management experience because of Dhoni. “It’s okay because MS is also in the field. Dhoni knows how to deal with it (migration) and has it at hand to provide advice and support,” said Viswanathan.
Now, the decision to hand over the captaincy back to Dhoni indicates a lack of options for CSK. The wicketkeeper will be 41 in July and won’t continue playing beyond 2022 maybe, CSK will have to find another skipper at the end of this season.
