Quickly becoming one of the biggest pan-Indian films, SS Rajamouli’s RRR roared at the box office with all its might. The monstrous blockbuster, released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, will go down in history for scoring the biggest opening collection of Rs 158.6 crore on its first day.
Its box office triumph was not deterred by the release of “KGF: Chapter 2” which registered a collection of Rs 134.5 crore on its first day. Despite the franchise advantage and a Christmas outing, the Yash star couldn’t break RRR’s record. Jr. NTR and Ram Charan’s lead is followed by “Baahubali” which claims Rs 152 crore and “KGF Chapter 2” which grossed Rs 134.5 crore on opening day.
Rajamouli’s management managed to pull cinemas out of their post-pandemic slump, drawing viewers to theaters in the scorching April heat. Record after record is beaten at the box office by this film which has exceeded the milestone of Rs 1050 crore.
“RRR” offers viewers the opportunity to experience the larger-than-life world of Rajamouli. Theater audiences greeted the heartfelt story of freedom fighters in the pan-Indian space of cinema with a vocal response that did not falter in the third week.
Set in 1920, RRR explores the undocumented period in the lives of Komaram Bheem (Jr. NTR) and Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) when the two revolutionaries choose to fade into obscurity before embarking on the fight for an independent India.
