Awkward date stories of Shibani and Farhan Akhtar; details of their first few dates and marriage proposals
Newly couple Shibani Dandekar Farhan Akhtar has recently opened up about their personal life, their first few dates, and an impromptu marriage proposal.
In a conversation with ELLE India, Shibani revealed how they started talking to each other and how Farhan Akhtar slide into her Dm and ask her out for a date after just two meets. However, both of them admit that their first few dates with each other were too strange awkward and full of ‘pin-drop-silence’ which made her think that they are not a good match for each other and will never end up together.
“We chatted for a few weeks. We were chatting via messages, and it was all good. But if we did a video call, those uncomfortable moments were back, but yes! it took time for him to emote, communicate and open up, of course when we actually and properly started dating things were different we both got so see sides of each other that we probably wouldn’t have imagined” said Shibani
adding to that Farhan Akhtar said it takes time go “beyond the first assumptions”
Farhan also talked about what he loves and admires about her personality is that “she is a talker”, “comfortable in her skin”, has a great sense of humor and is adventurous, and has a “childlike curiosity” the actor-filmmaker said she brought in a kind of sweet balance in our relationship and now marriage.
“Shibani also has this approach towards life which is positive and joyous and that makes things very easy plus with her, there is no sugar coating. She is a straight shooter,unfiltered,and says things like as it is .While I am not like that it’s a quality that I admire” he added
As the conversation continued couple open up about why the place Maldives is really special destination for them. Akhtar said he proposed Shibani on the island in Maldives. Recalling the unexpected proposal Danedekar said” I had no idea it was going to happen. We had not even discussed. But this is again Farhan if he decides something he will do it no matter what I was never that kind who wants to get married and have all that Jazz. But when Farhan asked it just felt right in the moment and after the initial shock I said Yes!”
The couple got married in February this year at Javed Akhtar and Shaban Azmi’s Khandala house. It was a lavish yet intimate ceremony with close family and friends.
