Officials reported on Monday that the death toll from yesterday’s grenade blast at Amira Kadal had risen to two after a girl injured in the bomb lost her battle for life at a hospital here.
News agency GNS reported that 19-year-old Rafiya Tinda, daughter of Nazir Ahmad Tinda of Dargah, died of her injuries at SMHS hospital this morning, citing Medical Superintendent SMHS hospital, Dr Kawaljeet Singh.
Rafiya was injured multiple times in the blast, which occurred at around 4:20 a.m. on a busy street on Sunday.
Muhammad Aslam Makhdoomi, 70, of the Makhdoom Sahib area of Nowhatta Srinagar was the first to die in the attack on a joint security force, while 28 people were injured in the blast near the bustling Amira Kadal bridge, including a police officer.
According to a senior police officer, authorities detained numerous people for questioning in connection with the incident on Sunday evening.
