According to the White House, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will go to Rome on Monday to meet with China’s senior diplomat Yang Jiechi.

Russia, which describes its action in Ukraine as a “special operation”, and China have stepped up cooperation as they have come under heavy Western pressure on human rights and a range of other issues.
Beijing did not condemn Russia’s attack or call it an invasion, but instead pushed for a negotiated solution. The White House National Security Council declined to comment.
The Washington Post said unidentified US officials did not specify the type of weapons requested or China’s response.
