Aamir Liaquat Hussain, a former member of the National Assembly (MNA) and a prominent television presenter, passed away in Karachi on Thursday. He was 49 years old.
A former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer was found unconscious at his home in Khudad Colony and transferred to a private hospital in critical condition, the report added.

Police said the body would be transferred to Jinnah Hospital or Civil Hospital for autopsy after which it would be handed over to a nearby family.

Prior to joining PTI, Hussian was a member of MQM-P. He has served as country minister during the military dictatorship of Gen Pervez Musharraf.

Hussain entered politics with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and was elected a Member of Parliament for Pakistan for the first time in 2002. In 2004, he was appointed Minister of Religious Affairs and Zakat and Ushar Division in September 2004 by the former Prime Minister. , Shaukat Aziz.
