Mumbai Updates : 1,118 new Covid Cases , records no death .Mumbai on Monday reported 1,118 new cases of COVID-19, about 38 percent from the previous day, with no new deaths due to the virus being registered in the capital as the death toll reached 11,331, a local community organization said.
As a result, the city’s COVID-19 case numbers rose to 10,81,865, while the death toll remained at 19,573, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reported.
Mumbai has contracted a four-digit coronavirus for the seventh day in a row despite reporting fewer 685 cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours compared to 1,803 infections on Sunday which also killed two people linked to the virus.

According to the report, 676 patients contracted respiratory disease in the last 24 hours, increasing their number to 10,50,961.
Mumbai figures have risen to 11,331 and the infection rate stands at 0.144 percent between June 6 and 12, BMC said. In particular, the double rate of coronavirus infection in the financial capital has dropped below 500 days in 475 days from 513 days on Sunday.
The positivity rate, or cases obtained in 100 tests, stands at 11.61 percent. The big city usually filed a smaller number of COVID 19 cases on Monday, compared to other days, due to a decrease in the number of weekend inspections.

According to the report, 9,622 COVID 19 tests, the lowest since June 6, were conducted in the metropolitan area, bringing their total numbers to 1,72,99,943. On Sunday, 15,922 swab samples were tested in the city.
Of the 1,118 new cases, 1,046 were asymptomatic and 72 patients with symptoms were admitted to hospitals and six of them were referred for oxygen support, the BMC said. The report said that of the 24,877 478 beds reserved for coronavirus patients in the city, only 478 were occupied.
The big city, however, remains devoid of closed buildings and content areas.
On Thursday the ED raided several areas in Maharashtra as part of a money laundering investigation into Transport Minister Anil Parab and others linked to alleged irregularities in a land deal in the Dapoli coastal region of Ratnagiri district and other cases, officials said. Areas in Dapoli, Mumbai and Pune are being searched after a state agency filed a new case under the criminal categories of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Meanwhile, Mumbai police on Wednesday arrested about 40 BJP workers, including senior party leaders Chandrakant Patil, Pravin Darekar and Sudhir Mungantiwar, as they protested outside the party’s office near the country’s secretary’s office, demanding to be booked by OBCs in the election.
The arrested BJP workers were taken to Azad Maidan south of Mumbai and later released, an official said. Earlier, some BJP staff members started a protest around 11:30 am outside their party office near the Maharashtra ‘Mantralaya’ secretary’s office south of Mumbai, demanding to be booked into other back classes (OBCs) in the election.
