The accused in the Hyderabad gang rape case allegedly tried to destroy evidence in the case by clearing the car of five teenagers, including three children, accused of raping a 17-year-old girl on May 28.
Despite attempts to destroy the evidence, investigators were able to obtain important evidence – such as biological fluids, earrings, shoes, and hair – and send it for examination. Police have now applied Section 201 of the Indian Penal Code (which resulted in the disappearance of evidence or providing false information to identify the offender) to the accused.

On May 28, a 17-year-old girl had gone to a bar in Hyderabad. He reportedly met the boy there and then took him and his friends to a nightclub in a luxury car after they promised to leave him at home.

They quickly arrived at a nearby restaurant and switched to a multi-service car and left at 6.30pm.
The girl was allegedly taken to a solitary confinement and raped in a car, which the accused parked in Banjara Hills. He was also dropped off at a tavern at 7.32pm.
Both vehicles were seized and sent for inspection. Innova was found in a farmhouse in Moinabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Saturday.
The farm house belonged to a woman who was connected to a political family and the car was used by the chief executive of the waqf board as her official car.

Investigators are currently in the process of recording survivors’ statements under Article 164. Based on this, the name of the other suspects will be added to MOLOW if necessary.

The white car was allegedly washed after the incident, police said on Sunday after following it to a farm house in Moinabad on the outskirts of the capital Telangana. The intelligence team inspects the vehicle for clues.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that this was the official vehicle recently given to a politician. It is not yet registered.
Four of the five suspects are being held in custody, two of whom are still young. The fifth accused has not yet been found. One of the minors arrested by the police is the son of a local leader of the party of Prime Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Another teenager arrested yesterday is the son of a Sanga Reddy politician.
Amid growing anger and political tensions over gang rape, Telangana Governor Tamilsai Soundararajan on Sunday ordered the Secretary-General and the police chief to submit a report within two days.
Widespread security photos show a girl standing outside a bar with suspected assailants. He was hit inside a car in the Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad, which is a high-rise building. Five suspects took turns raping her, with others guarding her, police said.
The other accused, identified as Saduddin Malik, was detained on Friday.
Police have not yet responded to allegations that BJP leader Raghunandan Rao, who released the video on Saturday and demanded action against the son of a local MP who allegedly sexually assaulted a girl. He said the video confirmed the MLA’s son’s involvement in the beating of the girl, which police denied.
Mr Rao released a video clip and photos a day after police dismissed the allegations as baseless. “We have identified five criminals in terms of CCTV footage and a survivor’s statement, and the son of a Member of Parliament is not one of them,” Joel Davis, Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, said on Friday.
