Ipl 2022;On Thursday, Mumbai Indians beat all-time defending champions Chennai super kings by 5 wickets at Wankhede stadium. lost hope of making the Indian premier league playoffs.
Opting for ball MI knocked out CSK for 97 runs, with pacer Daniel Sams(3/16 from 4 overs),running through the MS Dhoni led the side top-orders with quick three wickets in fiery opening spell, and then huffed and puffed to overhaul to the small target of 98 runs with 31 balls to spare.

With their 8th loss in 12 matches, CSK is now out of the play-offs berth, they remained at 9th position with eight points.
MI is already out of playoffs a long time ago, Mumbai Indians remained rooted at 10th and bottom position with only three wins in 12 consecutive matches. Both MI and CSK are left with two inconsequential matches to be played. This is the first time in IPL history that two of the most powerful and domination teams of Ipl are out of the play-offs.
MI has won Ipl title 5 times in their previous seasons and CSK has won the trophy three times in previous seasons.
