Ashutosh Gowariker had previously praised Rajiv Kapoor’s performance in the film. “It was really fun working with Rajiv. In the set, he was absolutely professional. And he played the role with great joy, dignity and freedom. What a kind man he was. His performance at Toolsidas Junior will surprise everyone.
Sadly, he will not be there to enjoy the awards he will receive, ”he said.
Earlier this year, the creators of Tulsidas Junior held a special exhibition in Mumbai, which was attended by members of the Kapoor family – Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Aadar Jain, Armaan Jain, Rima Jain and Kunal Kapoor.
Rajiv Kapoor, who made his Bollywood debut with Ek Jaan Hain Hum in 1983, died following a heart attack in February 2021.

The film is said to have been inspired by real events and set in 1994 in Calcutta. The son and son story began production in 2018. Rajiv had to mark his return to acting as he has been playing on screen since 1990. However, the actor died of a heart attack in January last year.
