The suspect in charge of the police station then handed the girl over to her aunt, the FIR said, adding that she was called to the police station the next day to record her statement. The next day, the accused officer took the girl into a room at the police station with her aunt, and raped her.
The girl’s aunt was also named as a suspect in the Fire.
Lalitpur police said they charged the officer with rape and under the strict POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) law.
