Dr. S Jaishankar On criticism of India’s position on Ukraine!
Foreign External Affair Minister Dr. S Jaishankar of India, countered criticisms of India’s position on Ukraine, saying Western nations were unaware of the pressing challenges of Asia, such as last year’s events in Afghanistan and continued pressure on regional rule-based order rice field.
In an interactive session at Raisina Dialogue, Jaishankar said the Ukrainian crisis could be a “call for awakening” for Europe and to investigate what is happening in Asia over the last decade in the world.
In response to specific questions from Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt about the situation in Ukraine, Minister Jaishankar said India insists on an urgent halt to hostilities and a return to diplomacy and dialogue.
“I think there is a very clear position that has been formulated on the conflict in Ukraine. “The position emphasizes the urgent cessation of hostilities that demand a return to diplomacy and dialogue, and the position emphasizes the need for respect and territorial integrity of the state,” he said.
EAM Dr. Jaishankar answered the question:-
Responding to questions at the Raisina Dialogues meeting in Delhi, Dr Jaishankar said Europe is advising India to simply increase trade when the same rules-based order is threatened in Asia. Now we are talking about this rule-based order as it serves the interests of Europe.
Since Russia initiated “special military operations” on Ukrainian territory, Indian External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar has been questioning India’s position on the conflict every time. Despite India’s clear support for peace in the region, conflict-related issues continue to follow India’s EAM. The Raisina Dialogues meeting in Delhi was no exception, and the issue of the Ukraine conflict was again brought up to the Minister.
In response to auidence questions about Ukraine, Dr. Jaishankar reiterated that India has a very clear position on the conflict in Ukraine. This underscores the urgent need to end hostilities and a return to diplomacy and dialogue.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of India said: At least we don’t give you that advice. “We need to find a way back to diplomacy and dialogue,” he said.
While raising the issue of Afghanistan, Dr. S Jaishankar asked which parts of the rules-based order justify peace in Afghanistan. He pointed out how last year the world drove the entire civil society of Afghanistan under the bus.
