“The aim of the initiative is to give prisoners a positive attitude so that they become good people after their release”, Minister of Uttar Pradesh Jail said.
“Gayatri Mantra” and “Mahamrityunjay Mantra” are played in prisons to create a positive attitude among prisoners, the Uttar Pradesh Jail minister said on Friday.
“In uttar pradesh Jail, ‘Gayatri Mantra’ and ‘Mahamrityunjay Mantra’ are played to induce positive change among inmates, especially those who repent of their crimes,” said the Minister of State for Prisons and to the Home Guards, Dharamvir Prajapati, to the PTI news agency.
“There would be ‘saints’ sermons for prisoners. The aim of the initiative is to give prisoners a positive attitude so that they become good people after their release,” he said.
“We asked prison officials to compile a list of inmates who are good at arts and crafts. We will provide these prisoners with modern training to improve their skills. Moreover, we will also exhibit their works outside the prisons,” Prajapati said.
He also said that on the day the BJP was established, with the help of social workers, 136 prisoners unable to pay the fines imposed by the court were released from prison.
